Paseo de La Habana 147

A privileged location in the heart of Madrid

Paseo de la Habana 147

In the center of any large city there are still small areas that offer exceptional environments for their exclusivity, privacy and peacefulness: Belgravia in London, the Rive Gauche in Paris or the Upper East Side in New York. In Madrid, one of these rare and privileged areas is located in the Chamartín District, specifically in the Paseo de la Habana area, the site of this luxury residential complex.

Since the 1930s, some wealthy families in search of the peacefulness they didn’t find in the then center of Madrid, chose this location to acquire large estates and build their private villas. For many years now, the area has been fully integrated into the city, although it has always preserved that halo of exclusivity and quiet elegance.

If we wander through its streets, we will find unique mansions, some of them currently occupied by embassies and institutional headquarters, large villas and luxury developments with beautiful green areas. A highly coveted location and homes of extraordinary value. There are few options to enjoy an exceptional lifestyle in the center of a large city. That’s the reason why the homes at Paseo de la Habana 147 are so special and unique in the city of Madrid.

Just like the area where it is located, the architectural complex of Paseo de la Habana 147 also has its history. To discover it, let's go back to the 1930's, when Mr. José de Oñate acquired an estate of more than 7,500sqm to build a luxurious mansion, where together with his wife and their seven children, he could spend long periods of time. Even then, the family appreciated the value of the tranquility and privacy offered by this estate and its elegant residence, surrounded by trees, gardens and green orchards. They named it "La Hortalaya", the root hortal meaning “orchard”.

Almost 100 years later, in this same location has been built the Paseo de la Habana 147 residential complex. Much has changed in almost a century, but the site not only has not lost any of its charm and elegance, but has gained in value, being one of the most expensive and coveted locations in the city.

The area and its services

Madrid is divided into 21 districts, and Chamartín, located within the M-30 beltway, is one of the districts in the center of the city. It is one of the most residential and with the most landscaped areas, perfectly connected by both public and private transport. The distance between Chamartín and what is known as the “Kilometer zero” of Madrid (Puerta de Sol) is approximately 7 km.

The district is divided in six areas:
Bernabéu-Hispanoamérica, El Viso, Nueva España, Castilla, Ciudad Jardín and Prosperidad

Specifically, the Paseo de la Habana area and its surroundings has a large concentration of private green areas. There are mostly low-rise buildings with spacious homes and well-kept common areas (with gardens, swimming pool, etc.), as well as villas and some mansions that are the headquarters of several institutions and embassies.

The area has a wide range of commercial offerings concentrated in specific areas. Most of its streets are residential, always quiet, but have all the services available and small stores within walking distance.

The Chamartín district also offers a wide range of schools (about 50 public and private schools), sports facilities, cultural institutions, etc. The famous Santiago Bernabéu stadium is also located in this area.
